Diabetic Retinopathy Screenings
In conjunction with Illinois Retina Associates, the Foundation has expanded vision services to include a Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Program. This program is designed to screen people throughout Illinois who are in high-risk categories for Diabetic Retinopathy. Screenings are free and made possible through the use of a mobile unit which travels throughout Illinois. The mobile unit carries a non-mydriatic camera with digital imaging capability which photographs the retina. These digital images (computer photos) of the retina are reviewed by professional staff at Illinois Retina Associates. Those found to exhibit symptoms of these retinal diseases after screening are encouraged to seek the ophthalmologic assistance of their choice.
The hearing bus will be on hand with a quick 10 minute hearing test which will let you know if further testing by an audiologist is warranted. You will receive a print out of your results to take to your doctor if necessary. Screening for those 10 and up.
April 1-2, 2017 Roscoe Middle School
The Rockton Lions Club is providing free Hearing and Diabetic screening this year. We will have the screening buses from the Lions of Illinois Foundation. Come by our table at the entrance of the Ro/Ro and sign up. As always, early detection is key, and this service can let you know if further follow up is recommended. Take advantage of this great opportunity. All screening is FREE!
We will be there from 9-4 on Saturday and 10-3 on Sunday
It's another way WE SERVE.
