Meeting Minutes 05/21/09 |
| Meeting called to order 6:30 pm 22 members and 2 guests |
| Secretary's Report: Motion by Augie, 2nd by Josh to accept the previously emailed report. Motion passed. Kerri also presented to the club two awards we'd received in the last few weeks. The first is from the Rockford Memorial Foundation for our donation towards their infant hearing machine. We also received the 2008 'Friend of the Chamber' award from the Rockford Chamber of Commerce. |
| Treasurer's report: Zig is absent, no report this week. |
| Guests: Scott introduced Jerry and Paula Swenson who are visiting our club and interested in becoming members. |

| We received a thank you from the Barbara Olson School of Hope for our $1000 donation towards their van. |
| Thank you from the Girl Scouts for our gift of $500. |
| Dinner - pay Josh the $12/ $2 pop only. |
| Donation requests: |
| Dean Camacho on behalf of Bob Schuepbach who is ill and having a midnight bowling fundraiser at Forest Hills Lanes. They are looking for items for their silent auction. Scott made a motion for 1 pair of tickets to each concert at OSD. 2nd by Augie, motion passed, with one no. |
| Steve P presented an email he received for a boy named Paul Meligan who has leukemia. They are also having a fund raiser and are looking for silent auction items. Motion by Jerry W to do the same package as previously metioned. 2nd by Bart, motion passed. |
| Camp Lions sending their annual letter asking for us to sponsor a camper. The camp is run by Lions of Illinois Foundation. The cost to sponsor one camper is $525 each. Motion by Dick to sponsor one camper, 2nd by Jack Motion passed. |
| Dues letters were passed out tonight to all who were here, the rest will be mailed next week. Dues are due to be paid by June 30th or you will be dropped from the roster. |
| Steak fry is July 23rd at the Rockton Boat Club. Cost is $20 per person. |
| September 3rd will be our first meeting in the fall. |
| We received a request from Deen Cooper on the Fish & Fun day - clean up is May 28th from 4 - 7 pm at Rock Cut Park. |
| OSD - next meeting Thursday May 28th @ 6:30 at Ferguson Financial. All current members can purchase a pair of VIP's for $200. |
