ROCKTON LIONS CLUB

The meeting was called to order by
President Bellich at 6:30 PM with 19 members present. Special guest –
District Governor, Ray Hughes
Dan Knuth thanked the club for
providing sponsorship for his son Glen who has just obtained the rank of
Eagle Scout. Glen distributed an album of his project which was
helping with interior upgrades for a
local shelter. Mr. Knuth also asked for financial assistance for the
scout troop’s annual re-chartering fees and equipment needs.
Motion by Scot Wallace second by Kerri
Wallace to approve the following expenses for Scout Leader, Dan Knuth’s boy
scout troop as follows:
Re-chartering Fees
$971.50
(Membership for 23 youths plus
Venture Crew
Equipment
needs $757.00
$1,728.50
Motion carried unanimously.
It was also noted that the troop will
continue to help with 1) annual pancake day 2) OSD and 3) Rose Day.
Induction of the following new members
was given by District Governor Ray Hughes:

Michelle Bergeon
Mr. Hughes also spoke about
accomplishments of Lions International such as the efforts to eradicate
preventable blindness. Attainment of this goal is very close and Mr. Hughes
thanked the members for their support by their efforts in participating in
the various fund raisers.
Mr. Hughes also announced that Dale
Adams and Dick Adams were the recipients of the Melvin Jones Fellowship
award for their supportive efforts in Lionism.

Steve Dickson to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented. Discussion: It
was announced that Wal-Mart had donated $1,000.00 to the club and it had
been deposited in the Rockton Lions Club Charities as a sub account titled –
General Fund.

Updates on club activities were given

tickets are available – Delivery day is April 14, 2007

Ro-Ro Expo – time slots
are still available for volunteering

New banner will also be
displayed at Ro-Ro

Ro-Ro booth will have an
eyeglass donation box, 2 OSD, VIP tickets will be given away, OSD parade
forms will be available as well as membership information

NEW BUSINESS
An invitation was extended to all
members to the reception for International Director, Terry Garth.
Scott Wallace suggested that Wal-Mart
might be a good location for the Vision and/or Hearing screening bus.
