Ken swore in 4 new members into our club: Christine Patterson, Ann Stenberg, Jeff Byrne, and John Peterson.

Ken gave a presentation on Lionism, on membership and service.  The International Governor's Theme this year is "Miracles Through Service" The district convention will be at Saulk Valley College on March 21st 2009.

There is no correspondence this week.

Cost of Dinner is 12.00 includes food and soft drinks. $2.00 for soft drinks only.

From a suggestion by Jeff Byrne, the club is going to take our last 2 1/2 cases of candy from candy day and 'sell' it outside the gates at the final HHS football game on 10/24. We need people from 4:45 - til & 7:45 (or til candy runs out) Scott suggested to take 25% of the funds received on 10/24 and donate it to the HHS booster club. Normally 60% goes to Lions of Illinois and we give the balance to the Talcott Library. Motion by Josh 2nd by Dick to do this. Motion passed.

There will be a zone meeting November 4th at Schirros (sp?) on the corner of Springfield and Auburn. This is hosted by the Winnebago Lion's. If any members are interested in attending please let Scott or Kerri know, and we'll RSVP for you, as we have to attend anyway.

Our next meeting is November 6th  at the Legion- with an OSD meeting at 5pm, followed by regular membership meeting at 6 pm. Sam's Pizza is catering, the menu is Italian Chicken, Pasta, potatoes and bread.

Candy Day results: Last year we made $2291, so far this year we made $2552 (with more to come after the 24th) Please contact Scott Wallace to let him know what time you can work on the 24th. We only need about 3 people for an hour and a half each, 2nd shift 'til candy gone'

Member Cassandra asked the club in assistance on her possible move to Crystal Lake. She may be getting a new job, and cannot commit to a lease until after she has decided if she wants to stay on at the job. Cost for a hotel for 30 days is over 1700 which she can't afford. There were various suggestions, and ultimately Dale Adams is going to ask Jim Athens if he has any contacts in that area with rental property available to rent month to month. We will also check with the center for Sight and Sound and see if they have any assistance available. Until then, since She may be leaving on Nov 1 the club approved (motion by Dale 2nd by Dan) to approve one weeks hotel rent of $420, although we will be looking for alternatives for her in the meantime.

Motion by Kerri 2nd by Josh to adjourn - Motion carried.
