Mike advised all the agreed upon information will be put in writing and prior to final agreement the information will brought to the club for approval.
Information From the Lions 1-D Convention- Mike Peavy shared a lot of information from the Convention that was held in Galena. The district was very excited to see Rockton represented at the convention and expressed that they would like to see us more in the future. They expressed concern in that we are not visible in the Lions International or Illinois Lions foundation events and programs. OSD was talked about in great length and everyone is very excited to try to attend and possibly participate in the parade this year. We were provided the contact names and numbers of multiple Governors and past Governors that would love to come speak to the club and possibly to the community. Went over some fund raising ideas that were brought to the table and also some non fund raising ideas. Passed around the Convention book.
RORO information-Kim Peavy This was tabled until next meeting due to the length of this meeting
Raffle License-Kerri Wallace presented the club with information on a raffle license. It would require some personal information to be on the application of the President, Treasurer, Secretary. The cost for the license and bonding is $350.00 we are able to do 52 raffles per year. This would allow us to do raffles at events that we have previously been unable to. The idea was presented for a Raffle committee who would set up the different raffles at different events. We would also be able to sell at OSD walking through the crowd this year. We could update the winners on all websites and create a buzz. This was tabled until the next meeting so that the incoming president, Josh Brown could be part of the decision. Anne was also concerned over having enough volunteers to support the raffle events.
