Rockton Lions Club Meeting Minutes Feb 17, 2011

Called to order @ 6:40PM by Augie 21 members in attendance

President’s Message-Augie

Effective April 1,2011 Anyone not wearing an official Lions club pin, hat, shirt, etc will be charged $1.00

Secretary Report-Kim Peavy-Approval of last weeks meeting minutes and erasing of tape recording and the beginning of this weeks recording motion passed 1st-Ron P 2^nd Steve

Treasurer Report-Kerri-

Request for approval to pay $150.00 to Steve for the 2009 taxes-Approved

Guest Introductions-Will try to confirm Barbara Olson Center of Hope for the next meeting

OSD update-Josh

OSD committee approved Draft Beer and new ticket prices for bands and festival admission, changing booth prices to a square footage price and looking at changing the grounds layout.

Reading of the vote to book Luke Bryan for Thursday night was completed via email. The votes are as follows and were read aloud during Lions meeting: Mike, Kim, Jerry, Augie, Josh- Yes     Kerri, Scott-No

There was some concern regarding attendance if you are holding an officer position within the club. Is there a need to remove folks for not being in attendance?  It was determined the rest of the year will ride out since there will be new position nominations soon.  There was also concern that the email for Luke Bryan was not sent to everyone that should have been included.  

**OSD is in need of a volunteer to assist with the food vendors, please see Steve P or Josh B

RORO update-

Kathy French has stepped down from RORO Kim and Mike Peavy have stepped in to chair the RORO

Jerry W will provide a Sight and Sound box for us to have at RORO-We do have these boxes multiple places around town. There are additional boxes if there are additional places we could have them.

Old /New Business

Polar Plunge the club will sponsor each plunger $50.00 motion passed 1^st John 2^nd Josh.  **It will be each members responsibility to notify Kerri Wallace they are plunging***.  The Polar Plunge will be held on March 5, 2011

Patch Banner-Kerri will talk to her contact regarding making a banner rather than purchasing through the club.

Nominations for next years positions need to be ready for the club no later than March 17^th as this will be the last meeting in March.  The new officers will start their new duties in July 2011 once they are sworn in during the annual Steak Fry.

Mayors Meeting-Dale A presented that there is going to be a Mayor meeting on March 17^th and there is a concern with space and parking. Suggested we change the meeting night, discussed having the meeting on the night before on Wed March 16^th. Kim will work on securing a place for the meeting.

Meeting- Kim proposed we start visiting other restaurant/businesses in the area for our meetings. I will discuss with Tony at Sams the possibility of having the March 16^{th (Wed} due to Mayors meeting) meeting at Sams.

Lions Cruise-Dale A the Lions cruise is coming up in June or July 2011 please see Dale if you are interested

Rockton Chamber of Commerce Dinner-Ron the dinner will be held at the America Center on March 18, 2011 live entertainment will be Hope Despite and a DJ. Dinner will be served also.  The cost is $35 per person.  RSVP to either Ron or the Rockton Chamber by March 8^th, 2011 (Dinner provided by ABC catering)
