| Herman Johnson, Zone Chairman came to visit our club, gave a small
update on district activities. Reminder to send out the calendar checks,
many go un claimed that are winners, can win multiple times. District
convention is in Dixon IL March 20 & 21. Remember to check out the
website for District 1-D.
Scott Fridly: As part of raising money to develop the athletic fields, their committee has put together a comedy show night at the PAC. There are 4 comedians, they have backers (Nicolosi & Associates and the Village of Rockton) who will cover the cost if there is a shortfall, but needs the Lions Club Charities to sign the contract. It was also suggested the club buy 26 tickets for the members to buy or to use as prizes in the RO/RO booth. Motion by Steve P and 2nd by Josh to sign the contract and buy tickets. Jack and Frank also offered to help out in printing the tickets, and it was suggested to contact HHS too. |

| Scott reported we spoke with Ray Hughes at last weeks Zone Meeting, and he asked if we'd put in $100 towards an ad in the BDN. Motion by Steve 2nd by Josh to approve ad. Motion Carried | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Polar Plunge donation, We will give $500 split evenly among all polar plungers who are Lion's Members. Motion by Steve P 2nd by Betsy. Motion carried | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Rose Day: We have the tickets, and delivery date is April 4th. We earn money on what we sell not deliver. They can even mail in their forms to our PO box. March 18th last day to sell. We get about 1/2 the money. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Ro/Ro - Peggy - sell Roses, comedy club tickets, Scott reported he can get the sight & hearing bus for the Expo, and is talking with Ro/Ro officials about getting the bus inside. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Kathy G - passed around form looking for volunteers for the parade committee. Parade is July 18th at noon. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Community Foundation: We have the two scholarships, we need to fund 950, to bring this years up to date. Motion by Kerri 2nd by Bruce to fund this money. Motion carried. Scott suggested we think of putting some extra money into these funds now, as the market is down, might be a good time to buy and it would get these funds 'self sustaining' quicker. Motion by Josh, 2nd by Steve P to fund $5000 in each scholarship now. Motion does not pass. Motion by Bart 2nd by Kathy to fund $2500 in each fund, motion carries. | ||||||||||||||||||||

| Med West Eye Bank - Their mission is to restore sight, and fund research. Motion by Steve P 2nd by Betsy to donate $1000 in the name of John Segzda. 3 opposed, motion carried. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Cathy reports on Lions Candy - we can buy displays for stores for $12 each and sell all year long. We also get to keep all the money we make on these, not share with LCIF. Motion by Steve P, 2nd by Josh to buy some trays, motion carried. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Cathy also has site and sound tickets, it's a good fundraiser, please take ticket books. We must return any books we don't sell, or we have to pay for them. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| OSD is on track, we are going to book the acts: Keith Anderson, Mike & Joe, Zac Brown Band, and Jamie Johnson. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Dale Adams reports the 2010 fundraising cruise is on. It will be a 7 day Caribbean cruise in March, less than $1000 cabin. We get a cut of the sales. | ||||||||||||||||||||
