Report on last fundraiser:
Auction & Pancake breakfast grossed almost $9000. After expenses, and donation of ½ pancake breakfast funds back to the legion our net deposit was $6785.50, which was $3135.75 over last year.
Motion by Steve, 2nd by Dan to approve the treasurer’s report. Motion Passed.
Secretary’s report:
Minutes as mailed and posted online. Motion by Zig and 2nd by Marianne to approve the minutes. Motion Passed.
Guests:
Bob Bloemker – our Lions district Governor was present and gave us a presentation on Lionism and some of the events and conventions upcoming.
Correspondence:
Thank you from the Rockton Chamber for our sponsorship of the Rockton Christmas walk.
Thank you from Badger council for $500 donation.
New Business:
We have one calendar left if anyone would like to purchase it, cost is $25.
Motion by Zig 2nd by Kerri that Steve Dickson head up the Lion’s Club Auction for next year, and to put a thank you ad to all our sponsors in the Shopping news. Steve said he would gladly do it with the continued help of all the Lion’s members who supported the project.
It was also noted that the bus company donated the busing costs for the Goldie Floberg children to attend the pancake breakfast.
Scott suggested to the club, that in the spring/ summer time we think of making some large donations to some area pantries. Right now with Christmas many of them have plenty of food, but later in the year they start to run low, and Wimpy’s fund has a large amount of money in the account.
Our Next meeting will be January 17th, 2008 at fibs.
