Meeting called to order 6:30 pm 19 members present

Secretary’s Report

Zig noted to change ‘Rose Day’ to “Candy Day’ for the money proceeds to the library. Steve P motion to accept with changes, John M 2^nd, motion passed.

Kerri passed out letters from Lion’s Int’l thanking everyone who sponsored a new member wthin the last year, Dick Adams, Marianne Mueller, Steve Pomahac, Kerri Wallace and August Christopher all received letters. More letters and pins will be given out when the recipients are present at the meetings.

Motion by Steve P, 2^nd by Frank to accept treasurer’s report, and to remind everyone Brett Favre just retired. Motion Passed.

There was a discussion regarding the athletic fields account, if we would be granted any naming rights to any of the fields, etc. Scott expressed an interest in being able to name the concession stand after Wimpy Vaughn.

Correspondence:

Thank you note from Talcott library for the donation of the proceeds from Candy Day.

Girl Scouts sent a letter asking for help for their upcoming trip, cost of the trip is $5400. We gave $1500 last year, and have just given $1000 to Badger council, motion by Jerry 2^nd by Josh to give $1000 to the troop towards their trip cost.

There was some discussion regarding the difference in donations between the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. It was pointed out there is a much longer standing tradition between the Lions and Boy Scouts and that the Boy Scouts do a lot more for the Lions than the girl scouts do. Roll Call: one dissention, Motion passed.

New Business:

Rose Day – Dick brought add’l posters and cards – it is ok to sell outside of Rockton but remember we get paid on what we sell not what we deliver. Please turn in cards by March 19^th. If you sell any beyond that, give Dick a call so he can get enough Roses.

Sight & Sound -  Cathy still has booklets, please continue selling the raffle tickets.

Casino Trip -  Kathy planned a social event for Lion’s Club members and friends. Saturday May 3^rd bus will leave from Hononegah High School (confirmed) to Diamond Joe’s in Dubuque IA. $13/person includes bus and buffet lunch. We need a min of 40 people, please RSVP to Kathy.

Old Business:

District Convention: Reminder, the District Convention is the last weekend in March, in Dixon Il. Scott and Kerri are going on Saturday and Sunday, anyone who is interesting in going and representing the Rockton Lion’s is more than welcome, Kerri has more forms.

Discussion regarding the Polar Plunge and if our donation truly went to the entire team or just one member.

Ro/Ro is March 15 & 16, Kerri read off the schedule again to remind everyone of their times to work the booth.

Our 2^nd meeting in April, the 17^th will be held at the Rockton Inn. They will be having some dinner specials for us.
