ROCKTON LIONS CLUB

 

NOVEMBER 3, 2005

 

 

 

President Dan Bellich called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM, with 13 members present.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Motion by Jack Lovejoy second by Scott Wallace to accept the Treasurer’s report, which showed a balance of $127, 313.08.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion by Paul Cannell second by Dan Bellich to authorize a donation in the amount of $1,500.00 to the Badger Girl Scout Council to help offset set expenses for their annual excursion, which will be to Niagara Falls, NY.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

A reminder was issued that it was time for the annual payment of membership dues.

 

Cathy Bellich stated she was still following up with RBR Trucking to see if they would donate the funds to help offset the costs for the annual Candy Day.

 

Char Larrison stated she needs assistance in finding a supplier for the hams and turkeys for the Wimpy’s Fund food baskets.  Steve Pomahac and Zig Sekula stated they will contact both Jeff Prosser and Tom Wallace for prices and report back to the committee.  Paul Cannell commented that he will find a supplier for some of the personal care products, i.e. soap and toilet paper.     Char asked that those who wished to volunteer for the distribution of the baskets should meet at the Rockton Grade School on December 17th.   Shannon McGaw volunteered to order the clothing for the Goldie Floberg residents.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

A sign up sheet was distributed to volunteer for the annual Pancake Day.

 

A letter was received from the United Way, asking for permission to address the club regarding their fund raising drive.

 

A request from the Hononegah Booster Club was read, asking for volunteers to drive golf carts during the Peppermint Swirl Craft Show to transport visitors, who need help getting from the parking lot to the dome.  A sign up sheet was distributed for the November 20th event, which will be held from 9-4PM.

 

Jack Lovejoy stated he will donate $100.00 to help offset the expense of the excess candy not sold at the fund raiser and asked that the candy be donated for sale at the Christmas Walk weekend auction.
