Meeting Minutes

December 3, 2009

Meeting called to order 6:30 pm 28 members & 1 guests

Secretary's Report: Betsy had previously emailed the link to the online minutes. If anyone is not getting her emails please let her or Augie know. Motion to approve minutes by Scott, 2nd by Josh, motion carried.

Treasurer's Report:

Motion by Paul to approve, 2nd by Courtney.  Motion carried.

Bart introduced his guests, perspective new members, Josh Ryan.

OSD – Steve announced sponsorship letters will be sent out at the beginning of the year.

Lion awards (recognition) - Two people were recognized. Zig Sekula received a Membership Advancement Key.  Scott Wallace received the Club Presidents Diamond Award for his contribution to membership growth during his 2008-2009 presidency.

Donation Requests:

Rockford Memorial Hospital sent a wish list booklet. The club has given to RMH in the past for more specific requests. Request was tabled.

American Red Cross sent a request for Relay for Life. We have previously given to this cause. Josh made a motion to give $500.00. 2^nd by Dan. Motion carried. 

Rockton Seniors Bus Transportation sent a request. Dale who could not be in attendance sent an email that was shared to the club. After a discussion, Scott motioned to give $500.00, 2^nd by Josh.  Motion carried.

Eye glass vouchers- Area schools have been testing and the club is expecting to get voucher request.  Zig motioned to get $1000.00 worth of vouchers, 2^nd by Bart.

Pancake Breakfast (12/5/09) - Jack passed around his sign-up sheet.  Needed help with 2^nd shift.

Rockton Inn sent the club a brochure.  Brochure was passed around to club members.

Christmas Walk- Steve mentioned that he still needed parade helpers.  Kerri and Scott are going to provide music during the auction.

Next meeting will be December 17^th at FIBS
