Kerri asked that everyone double check their contact info, as some emails still bouncing, and others have missing phone/emails.

New Business:
Scott Wallace presented Past President Dan Bellich with Positive Growth Award from Lion’s International.
Received a thank you note from the Goldie Floberg Center for our $1000 donation to their Special Olympics
The Rockton Chamber has asked that in lieu of donating the food for the VIP area during our auction that we instead donate cash, and they will take care of the food. Motion by Steve Dickson and 2nd by Bruce to donate $250 to the Rockton Chamber in cash for the Christmas Walk.
Old Business:
Candy Day: Cathy Bellich reports candy day was successful with proceeds of $2223.90, and this year the Candy was paid for by Lion’s International. She was concerned over the difficulty of getting volunteers for all the shifts and asked that everyone make efforts to volunteer for events when needed.
Christmas Auction: Steve Dickson reported he’s sent out letters to solicit for items for the Christmas Auction, as well he’s contacted a consignment company that deals in Sports Memorabilia items for auctions in order to get high profile items.
Eyeglass certificates: Jack Lovejoy said that former secretary Marilyn Thomas does have some Pearl Vision eyeglass certificates left over and he’s in process of getting them back to the club so we may donate them to school children.
Wimpy’s Fund: Charlotte Larrison reports that she’s continuing to work on the sweat suits for the Floberg children and turkey and ham basket’s for this years holidays. She’s also working with the Rockton Food Pantry and the Rockton Fire department on coordinating efforts for the needy. Since we have so many new members, Charlotte explained in detail the origins of Wimpy’s fund and how it’s evolved through the years.
Pancake Breakfast: Jack Lovejoy reports that Walmart has agreed to donate everything needed for our pancake breakfast this year. Jack would also like to see some advertising for the Rockton Lion’s Pancake Breakfast at the Rockton American Legion.
Old Settler’s Days: Steve Pomahac reported the progress of 2008’s festival. Dates are set at July 10 – 13 and we are actively seeking new bands, old favorites and a new set up for the 2nd stage area. Help needed in the food and craft area soliciting vendors. Next OSD meeting: Nov 1st 5:30 pm.
