Dick Adams made a motion to accept the nominations, pending member acceptance of the posts. 2nd by Steve D. Motion carried.
All our new members will be sworn in at the steak fry which will be July 17th, mark your calendars – more details to follow.
Dick wanted to remind everyone that our Golf outing takes place during our first meeting of the year in Sept. Even if you don’t golf, please come to the meeting. It will beat the shelter at Macktown.
Jack made a motion to send a foursome to the Chamber’s golf playday for $300. 2nd by Josh. Hand vote, motion carried, barely.
Casino trip – was successful – everyone had a good time!
Watch for dues letters to be mailed soon.
OSD update
The police dept can buy a surplus FEMA trailer worth around $20,000 for only $3500.00. These are new trailers, and would be used at OSD for first aid and a police command center. Steve D requests the Lion’s Club donate the money for purchase. They will put the Lion’s Club logo on the side. Motion by Josh, 2nd by Augie to donate $3500 for this purchase. Motion carries.
VIP tent, Sam’s has pulled out of sponsoring, will look into alternatives.
The chamber has put together a proposal for CLUB OSD, and we are going to try it out.
Must wrap up sponsorship in a week, make those calls!
Josh has 4 teams lined up so far for the softball touney.
