Rockton Lions Club Meeting Minutes 5-21-2015 34 members in attendance Call to order: President Kerri Wallace led the Pledge of Allegiance. Kerri thanked everyone for a great year and thanked our outgoing board members for their service. We have our next board meeting 5/27 anyone is invited to attend. Guests: Cindy Cooper from Girl Scout Troop 190. They are in need of funds for their troop and are limited on their fund raising abilities per Girl Scout rules they can only accept $250 a year total. They are transitioning from brownies to Girl Scouts and need vests, patches, etc. Anne Costentino from the WCSEC also came to discuss their job program. They want to place employable special ed students in area businesses for real world experience. They wanted us to help spread the word on the program.
Secretary’s Report: Kerri will get approved minutes online
Treasurer’s Report: Dues are due July 1st. Please let Allison know if you are not planning on renewing. Rockton Chamber dues invoice Acct. Detail for Scholarships quarterly.
Tail Twister/Pie in the Face Night: Happy Bucks Lion Rhonda got a pie in the face by Lion Scott Wallace, after he bid on it via an auction. We raised $110 for the admin fund. Thanks to Steve Shannon for once again being a great auctioneer.
Steak Fry: Will be August 8th, at Lion Kerri’s home. Please watch for official invite, but save the date.
Old Settler’s Days: All is coming together, Set up will be June 14th, and please make plans to help out.
Planting Project: Completed, thanks to all the Lions who participated. There is a citizen volunteer who will be watering them through the year.
Leo Club Update: We are all approved by the school and will be gathering applications over the summer so we can send to International for the official charter. We will have charter night in the fall.
Year End Award Nominations: Form is online, please complete by June 30th. Please add comments as well it will help Kerri choose from the nominees if you add comments. These will be awarded at the steak fry.
Survey Results: Survey results were passed around for members to look through, over all the results were positive and the board will use these suggestions to shape the coming year. Requests:
Girl Scouts- $250 motioned by Lion Tami and seconded by Lion Kevin. Motion carried unopposed.Thank You Notes: none
Business from the Floor: Justin Weiman also spoke of the life skills program through Hononegah, they run a vocational internship program where children work in local businesses and it has been very successful. 50/50 won by Lion Betsy Dhom $81
