Rockton Lions Club Meeting Minutes.
Thursday, January 1-29-15
The Center for Sight and Hearing

Meeting was called to order by President Kerri Wallace after an inspiring tour of the Center by Lion and President Dianne Jones. President Kerri led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Announcements:
The next meeting will be the Zone Meeting at the Legion on Thursday, February 5th. You can sign up online. We would like a big showing since we are hosting.
February 19th the Club will be awarding the Melvin Jones Fellows awards to four lucky recipients. Kerri would like as many of the Board Members there as possible.
We currently have $300 on account with Lions International Foundation (LIF).

Donations to LIF can be designated for:
Best use
Humanitarian Aid

Every donation gives us credit toward a Melvin Jones Fellow to award
The Melvin Jones Fellow is the highest honor a Lion can receive and there are 54 levels to achieve within the award.
Discussion regarding setting up a firm budget and budget committee occurred and most present agreed. This should be brought up before the entire club.
Motion to set aside $500 per Lion year for LIF made by Lion Jack Lovejoy, seconded by Lion David Kiesewetter. Motion approved without opposition.

Swearing in of new members:
Welcome to both Lions Heather Arcouette and Kim Pinta to the Rockton Lions. Lion Heather is sponsored by her husband Lion Jon Arcouette and Lion Kim is sponsored by Lion Kevin King.

Secretary’s Report:
Nothing to approve at this meeting. Minutes will be emailed out and presented for approval at Meeting after Zone Meeting.

Treasurer’s Report:
Nothing to approve at this meeting. Report will be presented for approval at Meeting after Zone Meeting.

Chili Cook-off:
Still in need of prizes

Rose Day:
We will have tickets at Zone Meeting, Posters and Yard Signs

Motion to adjourn
Lion Scott Wallace and seconded by Lion Karen Martin. Note the group is heading to Chili’s to support the Lions of IL Foundation Fundraiser for our meal.
