President Kerri Wallace led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Girl Scout Troop 190 came to thank The Club for the donation last year in which we helped to supply uniforms for 18 girls as well as fund activities. Leaders Candy Cooper and Mandy Guffey asked if The Club can continue to support them again this year. Motion to approve a $250 donation (which is the max they can receive from any one group) was seconded and carried without opposition. The girls also brought their presale cookie forms for anyone who was interested.

Executive Board:

Discussed next year’s board. If you are interested in serving The Club as a board member please get any questions to Lion Kerri for more detailed descriptions of any position you may have questions about.

Lion Karen added the need for a Lion to take over the Sunshine Club responsibilities. Lion Brent suggested this position be rolled into one of the VP’s job description. No resolution, tabled.

Budget dollars were previously approved for a memorial bench for Ben Campagnoni for $2500. The bench quote came in at $1600, so we made $900! The plan is to have this bench installed down at Settler’s Park.

This installation will help us fulfill Level 1 of the Centennial Community Legacy Project. There are three levels, the second is installing playground equipment/shelter a project in which we are currently in the early stages working with The Village. Level three maybe more challenging for The Club to achieve as it involves expanding a clinic/library. Plans are in the works for the later 20-teens/20-20’s for the Talcott library to expand closer to the road.

BBQ &Brews: The Village has a new form (about 18 pages long) that has to be filled out for any events. Townsquare Media wants to increase the event from 1 to 2 days. TSM wants The Village to handle all fencing set up and tear down. Higher costs will be incurred vs. last year. Lion John P. feels that TWM has gotten a reasonable proposal from The Village. TSM is still however looking potential other sites for the event. Lion John P. talked to Priscilla from TSM and there is no update as of this evening.
Goodie Bags for D-1 Convention: We have been given opportunity to have items included in the bags handed out to convention attendees. Lion Monique has offered to work up a flier and Lion Karen has offered to take care of getting them printed and delivered to Lion Marcia. Discussion indicated The Club members would like to have something OSD themed. Lion John P. mentioned that Lion Trisha D. had some magnets made up with the Music in the Park schedule. John will get the information to Lion Karen.

Sponsorship opportunity…Lion John P. and possibly Lion Karen (John and Cheryl Peterson: Realtors/Seek Your Geek).
Motion to spend up to $600 for 1500 magnets if sponsorship does not workout made by Lion David seconded by Lions Scott. Motion carried unopposed.

Leader Dog Fundraiser: Next meeting Lion Marguerite from Rockford Noon Lions will be presenting for their fundraiser being held at the CS&H on April 30th. Lion Jeanna also noted the group is looking for silent auction items for the event.

Rose Day:

Lions Dick A. and Joe passed out envelopes with tickets for every member to sell at the last meeting and Lions are expected to sell them all. If you missed last meeting Lion Dick has your envelopes tonight and will mail out those he is not able to hand out.
The Club makes $10 profit per dozen we sell.
All communities are listed-Beloit will not participate this year. If you sell to an area not on the list be prepared to deliver these yourself. The tickets ended up having South Beloit removed instead of Beloit.
Delivery is April 16th. We need as many as possible to leave this date open to help deliver. Sign-up sheet will be available at the next meeting.
