President’s Announcements-Lion Tami

District 1D night at the Ice Hogs-note season ticket holders can call their ticket agent and ask that $5 of their ticket sale go to the Lions Fundraiser.
Next Zone Meeting we host!

Monday, March 13th Tuscan Grill (downstairs) 6:30pm $25 per person *Note they do have an elevator for those not able to do stairs.

Dining in the Dark, Thursday, March 9th @ Francesco’s RSVP required $65/person Fundraiser for The Center for Sight and Hearing. Event Brite/check out their Facebook event. We are sharing a table with Rockford Noon and have three tickets still available although more are welcome to sign up!

Minutes from 01-05-17 and 1-19-17 emailed out. Motion to approve minutes made by Lion Jeanna seconded by Lion John P. Motion to approve carried.

Treasurer – Lion Allison

Report went out. Only action was reconciling PayPal account. Motion to approve report made by Lion Steve P. seconded by Lion Karen. Motion to approve carried.

$8 John P. sold six houses, got a new car, and all headliners for OSD are signed.
$2 Kerri for none of John’s six houses being sold to Lion Scott; and for no Packers Super Bowl this year.

$1 Joe for word of a new grandchild coming
$1 Monique for it’s almost Friday!
$1 Augie as the Rockton Police haven’t found him yet.

Committees:

Leo Club Update – Lion Justin/ Leo Zach Special Olympic team qualified for District Games. First unified team is playing. They are participating in the Polar Plunge and President Tami will be plunging with them if they get 30 plungers. Lion Kerri challenged all Lions to support them on March 4th. They have made donations to Vets Roll; donated a $50 music IPod stand; and are collaborating with RAMP for transition of up to 12 students. Their club is up to 63 members.
Membership Committee-Lion Monique: Trying to pack membership orientations. Even if someone is mildly interested have them come check it out. Want to exceed 100 members for our Centennial Goal of 100 members. Pack the house! Posts on Facebook, website or they can contact Monique directly. Next orientation is February 21st 6:30pm
OSD Update –Lion Steve P: Next meeting February 16th at FIBS. Meetings will be every other week at that point. Beach party themed. Need volunteers for decorating committee. 3 headliners confirmed. Kickoff Posters are available. March 30th at FIBS is the Kickoff Party with Q98.5.
Reverse Auction on hold
Yeti Fest- Need a “Yeti” for tomorrow about 1-1/2Hours total. Lion Scott W. was nominated in jest. Lion Gennie is heading up the Chili Supper from 5-8pm. The menu was presented. There will be an open bar. Food and supplies are all covered and monetary donations all but $101 have been covered. She will be calling volunteers tomorrow to set schedules.
Rose Day-Lion Dick and Lion John S. Lion Dick is out of town. John asked who had the tickets. They are at Dick’s and he will be back tomorrow. Online capability of ordering again discussed. Share Facebook posts.
Sight and Sound Sweepstakes begins- Lion Tricia D.

Ro/Ro-Lion Kevin King-Date is April 1-2 and Roscoe Middle School. Same weekend as District Convention. Kevin is getting both the vision and hearing busses. Sign-up sheet went around
International Convention Volunteers-Lion Sheri-She got signed up and has extra sign-up sheets for anyone interested.

Thank yous/Requests

Sanctuary Spa is holding a Guy’s night out to help sponsor the back-pack program. She is attempting to get Kohl’s involved by Old Stone Food Pantry is not recognized as a valid charity by Kohl’s. Asked if we can be listed as the beneficiary and then turn the money over to the food pantry. Motion to approve this request made by Lion Scott W. seconded by Lion John P. Discussion was held. Motion carried unopposed.

Rockton resident asked Lion Allison’s husband about repairs to the ice rink and how they were reimbursed. Discussion was held and Lion Steve H. is going to chair this project moving forward.
Lion Kerri received a request from St. Bridget’s asking for raffle donation. Motion to send two wristband packages made by Lion Kerri seconded by Lion Karen. Motion to approve donation carried unopposed.
50/50 Drawing $82 won by Lion John Schamell. He donated the proceeds back to the Chili Supper.
