Yearly Fundraisers/Service Projects

Rockton Rush Games:

Lions will be serving beer at the home Rockton Rush Games at the Rockton Athletic Fields. Proceeds will be divded with the Village of Rockton to fund the athletic fields and scholarship programs. See the 2014 schedule here.

Candy Day:

October 10, 2014 Your Rockton Lions give out candy for your cash donations- Main Street Intersection, Rockton. 60% of the funds collected will go to the Lions of Illinois Foundation, the balance will be donated to the Talcott Library.

Peppermint Swirl Blood Drive:

Come to the Peppermint Swirl Christmas Craft Show November 23, 2014 at Hononegah High School and give blood in the gymnasium 10-2pm. Those who wish to give blood can sign up in advance by calling (815) 243-4496 or by calling RRVBC at (815) 975-8751. Sign up online!

Pancake Breakfast:

Hosted with the American Legion, and with the generous help of local Boy Scouts, this pancake breakfast helps kick off the Christmas Walk Weekend in Rockton. Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the American Legion, Main Street Rockton 6-11am.

Charity Auction benefiting Wimpy's Fund:

Local Merchants and residents donate goods and services that are auctioned off, all funds used go to Wimpy's Fund. Saturday December 6, 2014 at the American Legion, starts 1/2 hour after lighted Christmas parade ends.

Wimpy's Fund:

Every Christmas the Lion's Club delivers food baskets and gifts to local families in need. To donate, or to help in distribution, please contact the Lion's Club.

4th Annual Josh Ryan Cornerstone Wealth Management Rockton Lions Club Chili Cook-off & Bags Tournament:

Our new yearly event at the American Center - Feburary 21, 2015. Come join the shenanigans! You can be a chili cooker, join the bag toss tournament or just come and sample and judge the chili!

Ro Ro Expo:

March 14 & 15 2014: Get free hearing & vision exams on the Lions of Illinois buses and bring your used eye glasses to be recycled.

Lions Club Rose Day:

Roses Delivered every March/April. $18 dozen delivered across the stateline area. Proceeds stay with the Rockton Lions Club.

Old Settlers Days: 

Our biggest fundraiser of the year every June we take over Settler's park and throw an unforgettable festival for Rockton June 18-21, 2015 www.oldsettlersdays.com for full details.

Lion's Club Steak Fry:

Every summer we have a private party for Rockton Lions members and their spouses to wrap up the year and swear in our new officers. By invitation only.

Golf Play Day:

Returning in 2015 bigger and better than ever! Plans are AREADY in the works! More details as we confirm.

Eye Glass Collection:

Year around project, You can find one of our drop off boxes at the following locations: First National Bank-Macktown, Stillman Valley Bank, McCorkle Funeral home-Rockton, Jacks Tire- South Beloit, Rogers Barber Shop, Shirland School, Forest City Therapy, American Legion-Rockton, Walmart-Rockton, Illlinois Central Bus Company, Cyndys Country Cottage-Rockton, Talcott Free Library - Rockton, Cathy Bellich State Farm Insurance - Rockton, Taylor Freezer. We collect your used eye glasses and hearing aids and deliver them to the Center for Sight & Hearing for recycling.

Eye Exam Vouchers:

Year around project: In conjunction with Rockton schools, we give vouchers to children who need eye exams and glasses who could otherwise not afford them. Referrals come directly from the school.

Summer Reading Program:

The Rockton Lions Club sponsors the Dairy Haus ice cream given as an award for school children who reach their summer reading goals with the Talcott Library Summer Reading Program.

Boy Scout Troop 619:

The Rockton Lions Club holds the charter for this local boy scout troop and sponsors their Eagle Scouts and yearly supply needs and charter fees.
